Often referred to as WFE, Warren Fire Equipment has created one of Ohio's greatest business success stories from little more than an adherence to a belief in honesty and hard work.

Our History
Established in 1920 as Warren Fire Extinguisher, the business has evolved from selling and recharging hand portable fire extinguishers to providing a complete line of fire protection products and services.  During the past nine decades, the company has continued to grow with quiet strength to meet the demands of the fire fighting industry, arguably one of the most important professions in the United States of America.
In the mid 1940s, Warren Fire Extinguisher was purchased by W. Bryce Piper and began offering personal apparel, tools and related equipment to fire departments.  By 1951 motor fire apparatus was added to the product selection and a new name was needed to better relate to the products offered.  The name Warren Fire Equipment was selected.
The company was sold again in 1961 to Edwin and Joanne Ott.  The Ott’s expanded the product selection of fire protection products to the fire service, developed a full-time fire extinguisher service department, and acquired a breathing apparatus service operation to enhance the company's portfolio.
In 1996 Robert and Lynda Malone purchased the company.  Dedicated to their new undertaking as owners of WFE, pivotal changes were implemented to help the company expand and reach higher potential.  Launching ownership with 13 employees, the decision was made to break ground for a new facility in Lordstown, Ohio, which is where WFE is housed today, seven miles from the original location in Warren.

Currently, the company employs 40 individuals and is divided into five inter-related divisions:   Fire Apparatus Sales, Fire Fighting Equipment Sales,  Self Contained Breathing Apparatus Service, Fire Extinguishers and Fire Suppression Systems sales and service.

WFE offers custom apparatus to the fire service throughout the State of Ohio. Designed for the community and engineered to the department's specifications, each apparatus is hand built the way the fire department wants it.
Warren Fire also participates in the Ohio State Terms Schedule program for motor fire  apparatus. The Ohio STS now allows departments to design their own apparatus using KME's complete price list of options to customize the apparatus to the community's needs!
